Abstract

Virtual server environment plays an important role in managing distributed files system. It can finish large scale computing tasks

cut down hardware expenses

lessen consumption of space and power by integrating several virtual servers. Server virtualization technology can make a virtual server to migrate from one machine to another at run time. This important feature of server virtualization is dynamic migration that is realized by shared storage. With dynamic migration

many servers' planned hardware maintenance which causes service interruptions can be avoided. When the numbers of virtual servers increase

shared storage performance becomes system bottleneck. In this paper

a virtual server environment based on Lustre cluster file system is build to realize shared storage of server virtualization. Experiment results show that the virtual server's I/O performance gets remarkable promotion and less time consuming.
